Kentucky Work Study Program

Add'l Info
The Kentucky Work Study Program (KWSP) is designed to help eligible Kentucky students obtain career-related positions and to enable Kentucky employers to provide those positions. Participating employers select eligible students for open positions. KWSP requires that employers pay students competitive wages that may not be lower than the federal minimum wage. Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) provides funding to the post secondary institution that will reimburse employers $2.00 for each hour worked by students. At least 75 percent of all wage reimbursement dollars furnished to the institution must be used with private employers.

While this program and the Co-op program are completely independent of each other, they work well together and most eligible students choose to participate in co-op. To participate in this program, students must be Kentucky residents and apply for KWSP in 219 Student Services Building. Interested employers should contact the Kentucky Work Study Office, 455 Student Services Building, or call (859) 622-1296.
