Job Description:
This is not a highly technical position. However, the candidate should have some previous experience maintaining a site, or doing site edits and. The candidate should be very comfortable with computers and possess an understanding of the way the internet and websites work. The candidate will be entering content and working with image manipulation.
Responsible for:
Creating/updating content using a Content Management System
Adding images and graphics as necessary
Publishing web pages to live site
Keeping website free of broken links and of extraneous files
Content editing following usability best practices for the web
Acting as a liaison between the department or unit and the web resources program.
Communicating changes, new features and general announcements about the web resources programs to site owners as well as participating in new web initiatives by the department or unit. |
Job Requirement:
Required skills:
Basic understanding of HTML
Familiarity with web publishing concepts, ie of moving content from work area to live site
Desired background:
Previous experience with web site maintenance
Experience with web usability guidelines and best practices for content, hyperlinks, graphics and accessibility |
