Job Description:
Summary of Duties
The Media Relations Intern will provide support in researching, writing, and editing all communiqués to members of the press members. The intern will learn how to pitch stories to the media, engage with trainers and provide support to the Communications Committee.
Overview of Duties
·Create and distribute monthly newsletter for the organization.
·Create monthly communiqués to various newspapers throughout the nation in order to get the organization's message out to all organizations and individuals that could benefit from the program.
Ability to:
Excellent organizational skills—with extra attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent interpersonal skills—works in cooperation with a variety of Body Recall employees and board members.
Excellent communication skills—presents ideas, reports and developmental materials to Body Recall employees, committee members, and board members. Should be comfortable with calling/speaking with the media when necessary.
Analytical skills—able to investigate opportunities to communicate positively on a broad range of topics related to the training and benefits of the Program.
Computer skills—knowledge of word processing software. Also, experience in Excel/building media lists and researching media contacts is desirable. Must be able to draft a press release and track media correspondence.

·Actively enrolled in or a graduate in journalism and or media relations program
·Have good understanding of basic media relations skills |
